Software for forensic document examination

ARGOS is a software platform for the automated verification of ID cards and identity documents.

The software was developed in accordance with, amongst other things, the technical guidelines of the Federal Office for Information Security and is based on international security standards for document verification.

ARGOS can analyse identity documents and verify their authenticity worldwide. The system can also recognise documents whose layout was previously unknown. Even newly introduced or rare identity documents can be analysed automatically.

The software extracts all relevant information from a document fully automatically and carries out a comprehensive authenticity check.

ARGOS is capable of analysing documents in real time and is already being used in various systems on the MIDAS platform, including the ELIAS passport scanner.
